We were privileged to be invited to the Inaugural AKC Eukanuba Agility Invitational held in Long Beach, CA. It was a great privilege to be among the top 5 dogs and represent this great breed at such a prestigious event. We hope that we were able to show everyone there that this is a wonderful breed that is trustworthy and stable in every circumstance. Below are links to a couple of Joey's runs, demonstrating that not all show bred ASTs have lost their athleticism, heart and drive. |

In this next run, Joey got disqualified due to the dropped bar (my handling error; I was late and out of position on the front-cross) but I wanted to share this video because I am so proud of him for negotiating this very challenging course so beautifully. You will notice how large the crowd was at this show and how close the spectators were to the edge of the ring, ESPECIALLY by the weave polls, which require an incredible amount of concentration in the part of the dog. That's where experience comes in. We also watched dog after dog miss the jump after the chute. Anyone that has watched Joey run knows that turning this boy is like turning an 18 wheeler but he was very attentive to the commands and handled that last sequence like a pro. Check it out: |
